by Robert Dobes | March 20th, 2008
The blogging world is anxiously awaiting the already delayed release of WordPress 2.5 blogging platform. The scheduled release was on March 10th however as the core developers said it wasn’t really ready and rather than giving the crowds a buggy software they decided to postpone the release. The exact date when it will be available to the public is not known however it could be any time now.
“The software is basically done and stable, and could be released today, but we’d like to incorporate feedback from a wider audience before making it available …” says the founding developer Matt Mullenweg.
WordPress 2.5 is sporting some major updates including multi-file upload, built-in galleries, gravatars, one-click plugin updates, tag management, full text feed and faster load times. Probably the most noticeable will be the newly redesigned administration with customizable dashboard.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on the new wordpress 2.5 you can take a sneak peek at some screenshots on the wordpress blog.
